Wanzaye hot spring is one of the popular hot spring tourist destinations, on the way to/from Bahir Dar – Gondar high way, along The Gumara River that fed Lake It is found at the bank of Gumara River. it is about 60km from Bahir Dar. excursion trip is possibel.

The hot spring was open to public service during the reign of Emperor Haile Selassie I. The therapeutic naturally hot springs water at Wanzaye is best spot to relax and healing such as mental depression, nerve diseases. The waters come from deep within the Earth and are exothermally heated to temperatures of 42°C and over. Ethiopians believe they are holy and can cure all sorts of ailments such as rheumatism and skin complaints. There are also other natural springs in and around, at Andasa.
