Gibe Sheleko National Park
Gibe Sheleko National Park , established in 2011, got its name from the river named Gibe (Ghibe). The Park located exactly at Gibe River Gorge, South of Addis Ababa to Jima Road. The hippos are mainly in the Gibe river valley. Gibe River is the main source of Omro River.
Gibe Sheleko National Park benefits from tributary rivers to Gibe River later Omo River and hot springs such as Ano, Wabe, Winke & Degosa, Luke, Jato, Zebegna-ber, Ener kola.

Area: 360Sq.km
Access: about 180km from Addis Ababa, asphalt road, crossing the National park. Within the park, about 70 km dry weather road and foot path to see the park with rangers and guides.
Wildlife: at least 17 larger mammals. Lion, Greater kudu, Hippopotamus. Bohor, Bushbuck, Leopard, Water-buck, Wild cat, serval, bush pig, Warthog, common Baboon, Monkey are most likely to be seen.
Birdlife: at least 200 species of birds: Red winged phtyilia, White winged cliff chat, wattled ibis, thick billed Raven, White collared pigeon, Double-toothed and Black-billed barbets, White-cheeked turaco, Malachite kingfisher are seeable in the park.
Altitude: 980 to 1835m above sea level, characterized by heterogeneous landscapes and water streams.
