The park was established in 1998 and covers 431 square kilometers (166 sq. mi), located near Dembi Dolo Town. Dati Wolel National park is endowed with unique habitat with high potential of conserving biodiversity. The park contains diversified habitats suitable for eco-tourism with astonishing flora and fauna.
Wildlife: Recorded Mammals in the Dati Wolel national park are: Hippopotamus, African Buffalo, reedbuck, common bushbuck, Klipspringer, Tora hartebeest, bush-pig, lion (often seen at Gara Arba, also known as Tulu Arba) – peak mountain, located at an elevation of 1,980 meters above sea level, leopard, Serval cat, spotted hyena, striped hyena, white – tailed mongoose, Adrian civet, black-backed jackal honey badger, Warthog, Colobus Monkey, De Braza’s Monkey, Velvet Monkey, Olive baboon, Bush hyrax, Rock hyrax, Aardvark, Stark’s Hare, Crested Porcupine and others are part of the park.
Birdlife: It is not well studied despite there are many birds being sheltered in the Park

When to visit: possible all the year round but best time is during October to May which is relatively dry season than June to September (rainy season). it can be visited with Gambella National Park
