Bahir Dar, Lake Tana & the Blue Nile waterfalls: Bahir Dar means in Amharic: sea shore is a city established just at the shore of Lake Tana - in north western Ethiopia, and the capital of the Amhara Region. Lake Tana, the largest lake in Ethiopia is the source of the Blue Nile from where it starts its long journey to Khartoum, Egypt and then to the Mediterranean Sea. Lake Tana and the River Blue Nile have an extraordinary history especially in relation to Ethiopia, Egypt & the Ark of the Covenant of Israel. It is believed even by some known scholars that The Ark of the Covenant of Israel had been rested in the Tana Cherkos Monastery on the lake. During 19 – 20 Centuries; the Ethiopian kings safely hid their treasures in churches on the lake’s islands. To reveal the fact what has been practiced on Lake Tana; precious crowns & ropes of Ethiopian kings are displayed today in a small museum near in Ura Kidane Mehret. Day1: Arrive Addis Ababa

Arrive at Addis Ababa Bole International Air Port and meet with us here s and transfer to your hotel (city tour if arrived in the morning). Overnight – at chosen hotel - Addis Ababa

Day2: Monasteries on Lake Tana

Morning; fly from Addis Ababa to Bahir Dar. Morning, take a boat trip – arranged for your honeymoon on Lake Tana to visit monasteries and enjoy on the very historical Take Tana. You will visit only the most accessible and representative of the monasteries on the lake, still serving their original function: Ura Kidane Mehret, and Azwa Maryam (in Zeghie Peninsula), Kibran Church (prohibited for women) & Entos Eyesus.

Late After ; drive to the Bezawit hill top(7km from your Lodge) for the palace of Emperor Haile SellassieI (photographing & entering is not allowed), panoramic view of Bahir Dar, the Source of the Blue Nile, leaving its source of Lake Tana and  for a fabulous sunset – appropriate time to color the enjoyable the honeymoon.   Overnight – at chosen hotel/lodge – Bahir Dar

Day3:  The Blue Nile Waterfalls

Morning; enjoy & relax with the best view of Lake Tana (in your room) where pelicans and boats of papyrus are easily seen.  Afternoon; drive to  the small town of Tiss Abay(32 km rough road) to visit the impressive Blue Nile Falls, locally known as Tis Issat or 'Smoke of Fire'. The waterfalls sprinkle up to a kilometer away. Today; much of the water is diverted for Hydroelectric Generation plant but it is worth visiting for the walk around, a Portuguese made bridge (17 Century), some birds and the evergreen country side. The area around the waterfall is amazingly fertile and the Amhara people who live here farm wheat, sorghum and Teff (from which Injera, the national bread, is made). After the fall, return to Bahir Dar & make city tour of Bahir Dar: the market where you can find the pottery, traditional hand-made woven clothes, and Woito Basket market. Overnight – at chosen hotel/lodge – Bahir Dar

Day4: Langano

Morning; fly from Bahir Dar to Addis and drive to Langano. Check- in at your lodge and enjoy with swimming or other activities at Lake Langano. Overnight – at chosen lodge – Langano

Day5: Langano

Morning; horse riding, sport activities like Volleyball around Lake Langano, boat trip. Afternoon; explore  the rift valley lakes of Abijata  - Shalla,  the Ostrich Farm, aquatic birds like the Pink Flamingos, Dukes, Gosse, and the hot springs. Overnight – at chosen lodge – Langano

Day6: Addis & Departure

Drive back Addis Ababa. Lunch at Dreamland Hotel – Debre Zeith and proceed to Addis.  In one of a traditional restaurants of Addis Ababa; Farewell dinner with folkloric dancers (various Ethnic groups of Ethiopia) and traditional songs, accompanied with several nation and nationalities dishes and with traditional coffee ceremony on your last day trip. In the evening; transfer to Addis Ababa Bole international airport for departure
